Our University was established on 8 campus areas including Rectorate Protocol Building, Erdoğan Akdağ Main Campus, Yozgat Vocational School, Akdağmadeni Vocational School, Yerköy Vocational School of Justice, Boğazlıyan Vocational School, Sorgun Vocational School and Faculty of Medicine-Research and Application Hospital, and in addition to these, construction of vocational schools and schools is still ongoing in 4 districts.
The units and buildings completed and put into service in 2014 are Rectorate and Administrative Units Service Building, the construction of which started in 2013, Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu Research and Application Center of History and Culture, Bozok Technopark and Innovation Center, Indoor Tennis Court, Our University's Guesthouse and Social Facilities, and the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, the construction of which was incomplete due to legal problems, but started again after the solution of those problems. In addition, the construction of the Faculty of Engineering and Academic Units Complex Building have been completed and put into service, and the Faculty of Medicine Morphology and Research and Application Hospital with 200 bed capacity, which will be a serious step for our city and region to become a health base, have been completed and it is at service.
Yozgat, the city in which our university is located, does not have inter-city or inner-city transportation problems. Since our city is located in the center of our country, international highways passing through the city center serve as a connection between the west and the east, and the north and the south; besides, Ankara-Kayseri railway and the railway connecting to the East of Turkey pass through our city, as well.
Many student dormitories affiliated to Higher Education Student Loans and Dormitories Institution (KYK) are at service for our students. Our students are offered accommodation at Yozgat Sürmeli Female Dormitory for 2200 students, Kınalı Hasan Female Dormitory for 500 students, a male dormitory for 1600 students within Erdoğan Akdağ Campus, Ahmet Efendi and Çamlık Male Dormitories for a total of 1600 students, and a male dormitory for 750 students in Esentepe. In addition, all dormitories offer heating and bathroom, and facilities to meet students’ social needs in the building. Apart from these, our students can also stay in private dormitories and they can rent a house in the city center.
Banks are at service in the city center, 15 minutes away from the main campus. Bank ATMs and a PTT branch provide service at Erdoğan Akdağ Campus.
Our meals are prepared under the supervision of a dietitian and a food engineer in our hygienic kitchen located in Erdoğan Akdağ Campus. Our menus are planned by our dietitians and food engineers in accordance with the Turkey Dietary Guidelines and they are posted on the university web page. Along with the central lunch hall building, food service is provided to our students and staff in our lunch halls located in the campuses of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Health Sciences and our vocational schools. Lunch halls to be built within the Faculty of Medicine and Çekerek Vocational School are at planning stage at the moment. Our students can use the meal service with their student ID cards. Card recharging stations are available within the lunch hall buildings. Daily meal price is determined by our university senate. Our students can express their opinions about food service through the forms available in the wish and complaint box within the Central Lunch Hall. The wish and complaint box is checked regularly.
State supported scholarships and loans to university students are provided by Higher Education Student Loans and Dormitories Institution (KYK). Applications for scholarships and loans are made directly by the student to KYK. Scholarship and loan amounts are determined by the General Directorate of Higher Education Student Loans and Dormitories Institution every year. In addition to state scholarships and loans, Yozgat Bozok University Foundation provides scholarships to students in need. Food Support is also provided by our university through the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports. In addition, there is a "Part Time Student" program at our university. The principles and amounts to be paid within the scope of this program are determined by the Administrative Board of our University at the beginning of each academic year. Our students can also benefit from various supports in the academic units of our university and scholarships of other public institutions and organizations and non-governmental organizations. Announcements on this subject are made by the administrative units at the beginning of each academic year.
Family physician and dentist center within the central lunch hall building at Erdoğan Akdağ Campus is at service to assist students and staff with their health problems. In cases where detailed examination and treatment are required, students and staff can benefit from public and private hospitals and health centers, as well as our University Research and Application Hospital located within Erdoğan Akdağ Campus. In addition, a psychologist is on duty to help our students with mental health support, problem solving, self-knowledge and improvement, better communication with the environment and adaptation.
Yozgat Bozok University Central Library is at service in an independent building with a total usage area of 6079 square meters. Our library collection is organized according to the open shelf system based on the LC classification system. As of 2019, approximately 41,000 printed books, nearly 3,000 e-books and over 35,000 electronic journals are available to users in Yozgat Bozok University Central Library collection. Besides, there are 700 periodicals, 2000 graduation theses, and 350 audio-visual materials. All printed books can be browsed on the Internet, and all books, except for resources of reference, can be lent to university students and staff.
In the general reading hall, which contains reference resources and a general collection, arranged as an open shelf system, researchers can carry out their researches 6 days a week and make use of the borrowing service.
Bozok University Central Library provides electronic journals and electronic book services to support the scientific research of academics. Accordingly, ULAKBİM_EKUAL databases are made available, and 8 other databases have been purchased with our university's own resources. Thus, 32 databases are available to be accessed through our University as of 2019. The number of electronic resources available through on-campus and off-campus access is increasing every year.
Periodicals Hall is at service for its users with around 700 periodicals and publications of other universities published throughout Turkey. If desired, users can access Periodicals in the lounges on this floor. Periodicals cannot be borrowed. Carrels are allocated to academic members and graduate students for working purposes within a limited time period upon request.
In this hall which includes CD, DVD and VCD collections of films, documentaries, music and poetry created to respond to user requests, users can make use of the collections provided that they are accessed within the hall. Audiovisual Materials cannot be borrowed.
Our Internet Hall with 60 people capacity is at service for users to reach electronic resources and to use the Internet within the opening hours of the library.
Our Conference Hall with 60 people capacity is at service to conduct Bozok University Central Library orientation studies, organize database trainings and be used for the trainings and seminars organized by the other units of our university.
Resources (books, journals and theses) that are not available in our library collection can be requested from the library through KITS (Interlibrary Tracking Sysyem) or TUBESS provided that shipping fee is paid by the receiver.
Within the frame of the cultural and social activities organized under the coordination of our University’s Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports, field trips are organized to different parts of our country with the participation of our students and staff. Our university is open to innovation and it supports the organization of cultural events such as panels, conferences, symposium and concerts by student clubs and organizations. Congress and Culture Center, football fields, indoor sports hall, indoor tennis court, fitness center and kick-boxing hall are among the places where our students can organize sports activities. Our indoor and outdoor football, volleyball, basketball fields and tennis courts are also available for our students. In the 10th Sports Festival organized this year, competitions were held in the fields of football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, chess, badminton and tennis and various awards were given to ranking schools and students. With the participation to the concerts organized within the scope of Spring Festivals and Graduation Ceremonies, the social interaction between the public and the students is enhanced. Students interested in sports such as football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, table tennis, tennis, badminton, folk dances, chess and wrestling can participate in the interuniversity sports competitions organized annually by University Sports Federation, and they can also participate in the competitions in other sports upon request.
